Half the spending in this so-called ‘infrastructure’ bill is tied up in extreme environmental mandates that will do little to affect climate while serving as an additional obstacle to competing with China’s growing power and influence. And the slight infrastructure spending that the Squad did permit to be included in the bill favors urban centers, flooding transit and passenger rail accounts at the expense of highways, and hanging our rural communities out to dry. Until Democrats get serious about prioritizing real needs of Americans over wasteful spending like artwork at train stations and duplicative government programs, our nation’s infrastructure will continue to fall behind our competitors,” said Congressman Moore.
