The NDAA delivers key national security priorities by advancing President Trump’s Peace Through Strength agenda. It also solidifies border security, implements critical spending reforms, and strengthens deterrence against threats from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). “The Department of War has never been stronger because this year’s NDAA delivers on President Trump’s vision of building a feared and focused military. Under President Trump, we are getting DEI and ESG out of the military and getting back to the core mission of putting American national security first. It’s no wonder why military recruitment is surging under this President’s leadership. I’m proud to support our military and secure major wins for Kentucky, including for the Blue Grass Army Depot in this NDAA,” said Congressman Barr. The NDAA makes permanent $20B of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts that Congressman Barr supported as a member of the Congressional DOGE Caucus. The package also prohibits funding for the teaching of Critical Race Theory in the military, eliminates DEI programs at the U.S. Department of War (DOW), and cancels climate change programs at DOW, all provisions Barr previously supported in past NDAAs. Additionally, Barr secured provisions in the NDAA that protect Kentuckians working at BGAD. The first prohibits the reduction of employed civilian personnel at BGAD.
