The planwhich Americans oppose by a nearly two-to-one margin according to numerous pollswill add at least $1.4 trillion dollars to the national debt, and the Tax Policy Center concluded that 83 percent of the bills benefits will go to the wealthiest Americans in 2027. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement: I support tax reform that helps Americans most in need: the middle-class, seniors, veterans, students, small business owners and hardworking families. Unfortunately, Congressional Republicans and Donald Trumps hastily written, haphazard plan does the exact oppositegiving a totally unnecessary, budget-busting tax cut to the super-wealthy and well-connected at the expense of ordinary Americans. Adding insult to injury, the bills $1.4 trillion price tag will be paid for by future cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and other vital programs that help our most vulnerable Americans. This bill is nothing more than a trumped-up, trickle-down scheme that overwhelmingly benefits the fortunate fewpeople like Donald Trump and his croniesand scams the rest of us. # # # 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
