I know you are being overwhelmed with information coming out about how to get help if you (businesses, churches, individuals, seniors, schools, parents, students, and more) have been affected by COVID-19. But be on HIGH ALERT that scammers are using COVID-19 messages to take advantage of the people. Visit the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Consumer Information page to file a complaint, sign-up to get email updates on scams, and to learn more about how to protect yourself. Here are some things to be on alert about. If you get a call that you are not sure about whether or not it is legitimate either: hang up ask them for their call back number so you can call them back contact the FTC or the Mississippi Attorney General Office at (601) 359-3680.
