The lack of accountability and culture of misconduct in federal offices can no longer be tolerated. Leading by example matters—that is why I have already required every member of my staff to take part in anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training, and why I voted in favor of making this training a requirement for all Congressional offices. “The halls of Congress must be a safe environment for all Members and their staff. While today’s vote is a step in the right direction, the job is not complete. Accountability and transparency measures must be put in place to ensure tax-payer money is never used to cover up bad choices made by a Member of Congress or their staff.
