"These colleges are preparing tomorrow's scientists and engineers as well as training students for a range of jobs. The health of our local economy as well as America's competitiveness on the world stage, depends on developing all the potential our community has to offer." The U.S. Department of Education awarded a Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program (MSEIP) Grant of $245,598 for Albany State University. The U.S. Department of Education awarded a Predominantly Black Institutions Grant of $599,637 to Central Georgia Technical College. The U.S. Department of Education awarded a Predominantly Black Institutions Grant of $563,307 to Albany Technical College. The U.S. Department of Education awarded a Predominantly Black Institutions Grant of $600,000 to South Georgia Technical College. Albany State University is receiving funds through the Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program (MSEIP) to enhance its science and engineering programs. MSEIP is designed to encourage careers in science and technology for minorities, and especially women. Central Georgia Technical College, Albany Technical College, and South Georgia Technical College are receiving funds through the Predominantly Black Institutions (PBI) Competitive Grant Program which supports the creation and improvement of programs in STEM, Health, Globalization, and Teacher Preparation as well as seeks to improve educational outcomes among African-American males. | 1 | 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z | 2026-04-06T20:24:51Z |
