Moore M001213 blakemoore.house.gov blakemoore https://blakemoore.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Blake Moore announced his appointment to serve as House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy’s representative on the House Budget Committee as the second highest ranking Republican member of the committee. He also serves as the representative from the House Armed Services Committee. “I am beyond excited to be appointed to serve on the House Budget Committee,” said Congressman Blake Moore. “Addressing our national budget issues has been the focus of much of my work both in Washington and in Utah’s First Congressional District. It is imperative that we rein in our federal spending and get our fiscal house back in order so we can chart a course forward that will ensure prosperity for the next generation. I thank Leader McCarthy, Ranking Member Mike Rogers, and Ranking Member Jason Smith for recognizing my work, passion, and vision for how we can address these issues and for including me in this important committee. I look forward to getting to work.” “I’m proud to have a fighter like Rep. Blake Moore joining us as our newest member of the House Budget Committee,” said House Budget Committee Ranking Member Jason Smith (R-MO). “He joins us at a pivotal time as American families are facing record inflation driven by massive new government spending, and as House Democrats are reviving their calls to pass President Biden’s Build Back Broke agenda, which would spend trillions more. Blake has already established himself as a vocal critic of wasteful Washington spending in Utah and we look forward to having him join us on the Budget Committee in our fight to return fiscal sanity to Washington.” The House Budget Committee is responsible for passing an annual budget resolution outlining government spending allocations and priorities. Congressman Moore was recognized by House Republican Leadership for his work on the Debt and Deficit Task Force he convened in Ogden, Utah, with local leaders to create a framework of solutions for how the federal government can address our national debt and deficit crisis. He was also recently named a 2022 Fiscal Hero by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. This is Congressman Moore’s third committee assignment, in addition to his roles on the House Armed Services and Natural Resources Committees. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T18:13:54Z
