I’m grateful to have partnered with the Biden-Harris administration in this effort, and grateful that the updates to Title IX are now final. These new regulations will provide greater protections for all students, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, so they have equal access to educational opportunities.” Bonamici repeatedly denounced the previous Administration's changes to Title IX, pressed former Education Sec. DeVos on her failures to protect students, and led the effort to reinstate protections for transgender students. In the wake of the Dobbs decision, the Congresswoman has also led calls for the Education Department to use its existing authority under Title IX to protect students who are pregnant, have an abortion, or are parenting. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T20:47:55Z
