[07/20/22] –Today Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) announced that ten of the Community Projects she selected passed the House, totaling more than $25.6 million for NW Oregon. This week the House passed H.R. 8294, appropriations funding for Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies; Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Energy and Water Development, and Related Agencies; Financial Services and General Government; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; and Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies. The legislation will now move to the Senate. "I'm grateful that the House approved funding I requested for ten community projects that will make our communities stronger, safer, and more equitable," said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. "These projects, submitted by Oregonians, will help meet community needs while strengthening our economy. Combating the climate crisis and expanding access to affordable housing are top priorities in my work, and these projects reflect my commitment to putting forward real solutions to address the challenges we face. I will continue working to get the funding for these projects over the finish line in the Senate." Bonamici advocated for 15 projects in total. The remaining five projects will be considered on the House Floor soon. The ten projects included in H.R. 8294 are: Beaverton Downtown Loop City of Beaverton $4,000,000 Capacity Building West Tuality Habitat for Humanity $750,000 Columbia County Advanced and Additive Manufacturing Small Business Incubator Columbia County Economic Team $814,000 Dartmouth Crossing South-Tigard Triangle REACH Community Development Corp $1,500,000 Fairfield Apartments City of Portland $2,000,000 Hall Boulevard Pedestrian Safety Improvements at Hemlock & Spruce Oregon Department of Transportation $3,200,000 Main Avenue/OR 104 Pedestrian Route City of Warrenton $1,360,000 Merlo Bus Garage Zero Emission Retrofit TriMet $5,000,000 Newberg Dundee Bypass Corridor Safety and Intersection Improvements Oregon Department of Transportation $4,000,000 Willamette Water Supply System Tualatin Valley Water District $3,000,000 Under the rules of the House Appropriations Committee, Members of Congress could each submit up to 15 Community Project Funding requests for consideration during the fiscal year 2023 appropriations legislative process.
