Boyle B001296 boyle.house.gov boyle https://boyle.house.gov/media-center/press-releases scraper PHILADELPHIA, PA – Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) applauded a $43 million federal grant he helped secure for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). The funding will allow SEPTA to replace aging 30-foot diesel buses with new diesel-electric hybrid vehicles. The grant comes through the Federal Transit Administration’s Low- or No-Emission Program and was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law—a law Congressman Boyle championed. This investment will enable SEPTA to retire outdated buses that have exceeded their useful life and upgrade to cleaner, more reliable hybrid models that will improve service for riders across Philadelphia and the region. “This is a major win for Philadelphia,” said Congressman Boyle. “These new hybrid buses will mean more reliable service, a stronger transit system, and cleaner air for the hundreds of thousands of riders who depend on SEPTA every day. I was proud to help champion the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and to help secure this funding that delivers lasting infrastructure improvements for our city.” The grant will support bus replacements across Southeastern Pennsylvania and will help reduce emissions, lower operating costs, and strengthen long-term fleet reliability. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:52:45Z
