Burchett Introduces Three New Crime Bills 2025-11-20 2025 2025-11 Republican House TN Tim Burchett B001309 burchett.house.gov burchett https://burchett.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper Today, US Congressman Tim Burchett introduced three bills to make everyday American life safer. The Ending Crime and Disorder on America’s Streets Act codifies President Trump’s Executive Order 14321 and aims to address the growing crisis of homelessness and vagrancy by helping states implement stricter enforcement and better treatment options. The Public Transit Crime Prevention Act imposes fines and up to five years in prison for individuals who vandalize transit property. More importantly, it increases the mandatory minimum of at least five years in prison for simple assault, and 15 years for aggravated assault. The End Cashless Bail to Protect Americans Act codifies President Trump’s Executive Order 14342 by prohibiting funding to states and localities that use cashless bail. Funding may be reinstated only after the U.S. Attorney General determines that the state or locality has stopped using cashless bail systems. “I am confident that these three bills will help protect innocent Americans from violent criminals, reduce the revolving door of justice, and clean up our streets” said Congressman Burchett. “I am sick and tired of Washington politicians talking a big game about addressing crime and homelessness; I’m going to stand up for innocent Americans.” ### 1 2026-04-04T05:28:40Z 2026-04-04T05:30:10Z
