Robbins passed away at age 73, at his home surrounded by family members Tuesday, September 15, 2020 following a prolonged illness. Known for his humility, hospitality and deep dedication to the betterment of the Wilson community; Bucky Robbins has left an indelible legacy that has impacted so many. A true servant leader, Bucky's leadership roles speak volumes of his endless desire to meet the needs of his community. Robbins served two terms as a Wilson County Commissioner, Chairman of the City of Wilson Recreation Commission, Board of Director for Wilson County Arts Council as well as the Wilson County Library. Growing up on a farm, Bucky was a strong agriculture advocate, and served on many agribusiness boards and also served as the Chairman of the Wilson County Agribusiness Committee. His list of accomplishments and recognitions are indeed extensive; however, the legacy of Bucky Robbins rests not only in the what, but the why. Bucky loved people. He loved to see people not only survive, but to also truly thrive. Bucky was motivated by his hope for a better tomorrow and clear conviction that with a little courage and a lot of faith; the Wilson community would be a better place for all. Bucky was loved by many, and his service as an agent for change will never be forgotten.
