https://calvert.house.gov/media/press-releases/house-passes-rep-calverts-stuck-hold-act House Passes Rep. Calvert’s Stuck On Hold Act 2024-09-25 2024 2024-09 Republican House CA Ken Calvert C000059 calvert.house.gov calvert https://calvert.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper Today, the House of Representatives passed the Stuck On Hold Act, H.R. 6656, which was introduced by Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41). The bill would require the Veterans’ Administration (VA) to implement a new and improved customer service telephone system that informs callers of their estimated wait times and, if the wait is estimated to be longer than 10 minutes, to give the caller the option of receiving an automated call back when it is their turn in line. “Our veterans deserve the best, modern service when they call the VA for assistance,” said Rep. Calvert. “Veterans calling about their health care or other benefits they have earned by serving our country should not be stuck waiting endlessly on hold hoping someone answers. I’m thankful for the overwhelming support of my House colleagues for the Stuck On Hold Act and urge the Senate to take action on it quickly.” Earlier this year, the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity held a legislative hearing on the Stuck On Hold Act. At the hearing, a number of veteran service organizations voiced their support for the bill, including Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Disabled American Veterans (DAV). 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z
