Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15), a member of the House Budget Committee, House Ways and Means Committee, and Committee on House Administration, voted to pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) to keep the government open and prevent a shutdown while bipartisan government funding negotiations advance. Following the vote, Rep. Carey released the following statement: “Shutting down the government means missed paychecks for our troops, delays in critical services, and disrupts the work Congress is doing to deliver for constituents. We are looking at passing a full, bipartisan government funding deal in the coming weeks, but we cannot shut down the government in the meantime,” Rep. Carey said.
