"Signing up means peace of mind—and it's easy. Don't miss your chance to enroll on healthcare.gov!" As of December 2, over 3.6 million Americans—including 58,255 Hoosiers—had signed up for coverage on healthcare.gov this enrollment period, including over one million new shoppers. For Hoosiers still looking to enroll, free, local help is available at localhelp.healthcare.gov, or by calling 800-318-2598. Friday's deadline applies to everyone, including returning shoppers. Nearly all Americans are required by law to have health insurance. "Make sure to tell your friends, neighbors, family members, and colleagues that now is the time to sign up," Carson reminded Hoosiers. "Affordable insurance is likely just a click or a call away." Additional information to remember: Affordable plans are available for the vast majority of Americans. Last year, 8 in 10 people qualified for financial help, putting premiums between $50 and $100 per month for most people. Returning shoppers should come back to healthcare.gov to check their options and update their information. Without prospectively enrolling, existing consumers might be automatically enrolled into a new plan if their 2017 plan is no longer offered, and the time to change plans may have already passed.
