In a report released this week by the Corporation for National and Community Service, Indianapolis ranked 6th among the 51 largest cities across the country for volunteerism. "I am fortunate to come from Indiana where a sense of community is the norm," said Congressman André Carson. "I am proud of my fellow Hoosiers who, time and again, have demonstrated their willingness to put their skills and experience to good use in improving our neighborhoods and communities." The report finds residents in Indy volunteered 51.7 million hoursequaling an estimated economic impact of $1.2 billion dollars in 2017.
