Parents and fair-goers deserve full peace of mind knowing that we’ve done everything possible to ensure no one experiences a terrifying accident while they’re just trying to have summer fun.” Congressman Carson’s H.R. 1855, the National Amusement Park Ride and Safety Act, was introduced earlier this year. The legislation would: Enable federal investigations into ride accidents Mandate corrective action plans for identified defects Improve safety training for ride operators Establish a national database to track accidents and mechanical issues Indiana is home to two amusement parks with rollercoasters and many county fairs. This legislation is designed to raise the bar for ride safety across the country, and especially in the Hoosier State.
