The announcement of the new location comes after the Vet Center Community Access Point in Cochise County closed in May. In July, Congressman Ciscomani wrote a letter to the VA demanding answers on the closure and pressing the agency for a timeline for the opening of a new location. The shuttering of the access point left the nearest Vet Center more than 75 miles away, creating an immense burden for the 18,000 veterans that call Cochise County home. “I am pleased to see the VA take concrete steps to open a new location in Cochise County,” said Congressman Ciscomani, a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. “Our veterans already face onerous red tape when receiving the benefits they deserve, and we must do all we can to eliminate those burdens.
