Clarke (NY-09) issued the following statement celebrating the passage of H.R. 5378, the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act: “Earlier this year, I introduced the bipartisan bill, H.R. 2665, the Supporting Safety Net Hospitals Act, to amend Title XIX of the Social Security Act to eliminate pending cuts to Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) payments. Medicaid DSH payments are a lifeline for the safety net hospitals that care for the low-income and the sickest patients in our health care system.
