This year, Congressman Higgins is one of only 33 House members to have earned the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award.” NTU’s rating program is designed to calculate a Member’s voting record on fiscal responsibility by evaluating every vote that has an impact on tax, spending, trade, and regulatory policy utilizing a methodical weighting system. More information on the report is available here. Congressman Higgins issued the following statement: “I’m honored to receive the NTU’s Taxpayers’ Friend Award. It is more important than ever that we fight to restore fiscal responsibility and maintain America’s economic competitiveness. Our national debt is unsustainable. Our grandchildren deserve to inherit a financially sound America, just as my generation did. Our Republic is threatened by insane spending. Some of us are willing to fight against the leviathan that would devour us.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:49:40Z
