Once built to full capacity, the CP2 facility at Venture Global will be able to export up to 3.96 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of liquid natural gas to non-free trade agreement countries, bringing employment opportunities and economic growth to Louisiana. Since being elected, Congressman Higgins has been a vocal advocate for Louisiana’s LNG industry. In December 2024, Congressman Higgins sent a letter to incoming U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright calling for immediate action to overturn the Biden administration’s LNG permitting moratorium. Congressman Higgins also asked Secretary Wright to expedite the review of pending applications, including Venture Global’s CP2 project.
