The CR ultimately passed the House this afternoon by a vote of 341-82. “As expected, Washington reverted back to its favorite playbook: kicking the can of government funding down the road to buy lawmakers more time to prepare a bloated Christmas omnibus,” said Clyde. “Yet Americans deserve better than the Swamp’s status quo stop-gap spending bill. House Republicans should have used our leverage to send the funding battle into — hopefully — Republican territory and to ensure only Americans vote in our elections, which is why I supported the 6-month CR + SAVE Act. While I’m certainly disappointed that we ended up with business as usual, I look forward to combating the Uniparty’s runaway spending and harmful policies when the funding fight resumes.
