Memphis Shelby County Schools will receive $250,850 for repairs and Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation will receive $541,134 for replacement utility poles and transformers as a result of the storm that was declared a disaster in February. Both figures represent the 75 percent federal share for reimbursements. MLGW will receive $124,046 for costs associated with managing public assistance grants as a result of storms last summer. That figure represents 100 percent of the cost incurred. Congressman Cohen made the following statement: “Our region has taken quite a bruising in recent years from straight-line winds and tornadoes.
