The Civic Innovation Challenge (CIVIC) Stage One project will look at the need for efficient public transit systems, including fixed-line buses and on-demand micro-transit services, meeting strict arrival times. Congressman Cohen submitted a letter of support for this project earlier this year. Congressman Cohen made the following statement: “Understanding the transportation needs of the future Blue Oval City workforce is a critical element of the project’s success. I congratulate the University and Dr. Mishra for being awarded this prestigious grant award for such forward-thinking and innovative research benefitting our entire region. I’m pleased to have supported such an important endeavor for our region.” The project is a response to the Civic Innovation Challenge Program and is a collaboration between the National Science Foundation, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Energy. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:36:13Z
