As the Washington Post said in a recent editorial, What matters now, however, is that the Pentagon have certainty and predictability in a time of mounting tension in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Our Armed Forces need this important funding so they can effectively protect our nation from ongoing threats and have certainty. President Obamas floundering foreign policy has brought less stability throughout the world and has allowed ISIS to be on the march and the Taliban to regain territory in Afghanistan. Our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines need this funding not only to be provided with the tools necessary to protect our nation, but they also need it for helping wounded warriors suffering from mental-health challenges and enhancing sexual assault prevention and response. This veto only hurts our brave men and women who wear the uniform. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
