Rep. Craig’s bill would permanently reauthorize federal resources that help expand outreach to potential low-income Medicare beneficiaries and boost enrollment efforts. These resources are set to expire on October 1. They have been extended with bipartisan support 11 times over the past 15 years. Medicare open enrollment begins on October 15 and runs through December 7. There are currently more than 1 million Minnesotans enrolled in Medicare. “Giving low-income seniors the information and support they need to get enrolled in Medicare will help improve health outcomes and make our country stronger – that’s why it’s so important that we make these outreach and enrollment resources permanent,” said Rep.
