The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill provides a total of $157 billion, which is nearly $4 billion (3%) above the 2026 enacted level. The bill includes critical investments in military infrastructure that support readiness and the military families that utilize them. "We owe it to the men and women who have served our nation," said Rep. Crank. "The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act ensures that VA programs are fully funded, including our veterans' health care and benefits. The bill also works to protect veterans' Second Amendment rights, improve quality of life for our service members and their families, deter Chinese aggression, and more.” Background: Provides $19.2 billion for the Department of War (DoW) military construction and family housing. $90 million in additional funding for design of barracks and child development centers vital for the quality of life for service members and their families to address barrack deficiencies identified by the Government Accountability Office. Provides $450.29 billion for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Fully funds veterans’ medical care at $138.2 billion. Supports efforts to improve mental health and suicide prevention among veterans. Funds the Community Care account, which empowers veterans to seek specialty care to meet their unique needs. Prohibits the VA from purchasing resources directly or indirectly from Communist China.
