Crawford Responds to President Biden’s Shameful Speech 2022-09-02 2022 2022-09 Republican House AR Eric A. "Rick" Crawford C001087 crawford.house.gov crawford https://crawford.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Sara Robertson (Sara.Robertson2@mail.house.gov) Rep. Crawford Responds to President Biden's Shameful Speech 9/2/2022 Washington — Last night, President Biden decided to distract from his countless failures as president by proclaiming that the biggest threat to our nation is the half or more of Americans who disagree with him. "It is shameful that instead of addressing a plan to tackle the inflation he unleashed, reduce the violent crime raging in Democrat cities, and end his open border policies, our President decided instead to broadcast his hatred for millions of American families who work hard and play by the rules. Just a week ago, he unilaterally announced he will force firefighters, construction workers, and truck drivers to pay off the college loans of wealthy lawyers and doctors, a gift to his affluent political base and a thumb in the eyes of Americans who paid off their loans, or did not attend college. Now, with an election approaching, and early voting just weeks away, he has launched a vicious rhetorical campaign like the one that inspired a liberal extremist to cross the country with weapons and plans to assassinate several Supreme Court Justices," said Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01). Here is a brief list of President Biden's catastrophes: Food prices up 13% this year – the highest increase ever. The highest inflation in 40 years. Supporter of dangerous ‘defund the police' and ‘catch and release' criminal policies that have created the deadliest year in America in 20 years. Soaring energy prices that have caused 1 in 6 families to fall behind on utility bills. The highest gas prices ever recorded in U.S. history. The labelling of concerned parents at school board meetings as ‘terrorists'. An unlawful refusal to enforce our immigration laws – leading to record fentanyl deaths and millions pouring through our southern border. A botched departure from Afghanistan that cost 13 Americans their lives and left the radical Taliban with a massive stock of abandoned U.S. military hardware. Hiring of an additional 87,000 IRS agents to investigate middle class Americans – making the IRS larger than the FBI, State Department, Pentagon and Border Control combined. "Biden's extremist policies and dangerous rhetoric are designed to tear Americans apart and are making families poorer," Crawford concluded. ##### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T03:08:33Z
