Crawford discussed priorities of the new Congress, including implementation of the Infrastructure and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization, which is set to expire this year. He went on to emphasize the importance of state assistance by urging the US Department of Transportation to create a comprehensive schedule of grant opportunities for the year and provide states with the tools they need and flexibility to use those tools how they see fit. "We ask an awful lot of you, we ask a lot of our states but we don't necessarily properly equip the states to do the work that we need with regard to infrastructure investment.
