Crawford Statement on Agreement Between Rail Industry and Unions 2022-09-15 2022 2022-09 Republican House AR Eric A. Crawford Statement on Agreement Between Rail Industry and Unions 9/15/2022 Washington — Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) issued the following statement following reports that the looming union rail strike has been averted: "I'm relieved that an agreement has been tentatively reached to prevent a union rail strike. A strike would have crippled our supply chain and caused further harm for American families, already suffering from rampant inflation and signs of a recession. "President Biden should have stood up to his friends in the union months ago, rather than letting this brinksmanship continue for so long. Rail companies had been forced to begin making changes to shipping priorities to prepare for this threatened union action. Republicans introduced legislation to reach an agreement, while far left democrats were willing to block such legislation and encourage a strike." Rep. Crawford is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. ##### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T03:08:33Z
