The letter is a response to Crist's September 25th letter calling for an investigation into unfair, deceptive, and abusive behavior by the company. In the response, CFPB Acting Director Mick Mulvaney describes the allegations troubling. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act to go after bad actors like Marlin Financial. As CFPB reviews and verifies their deceptive practices, I encourage any Floridians who have been abused by this company to make their voices heard, urged Crist.
