Joe Cunningham's amendment to H.R. 3055, the Military Construction Appropriations Act, that prohibits funds from being used for a base realignment and closure (BRAC). The Lowcountry is home to military installations like Joint Base Charleston, Parris Island, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, and Beaufort Naval Hospital. Combined, these important national security assets are estimated to account for nearly $13 billion in economic impact annually and support 78,000 jobs.
