Its not only disappointing to see the President ignore that mandate, its unacceptable. Congress needs to take action to ensure our military installations around the world are adapting and mitigating when it comes to climate change, and I challenge the Members of the Climate Solutions Caucus to step up to help lead that effort. BACKGROUND Thanks to the actions of the Climate Solutions Caucus earlier this year, the recently signed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) did not includean anti-climateamendmentthat would have prohibited the Department of Defense from mitigating and adapting to the impact of sea level rise. The Caucus led a bipartisan effort to block the anti-climate amendmentduring the NDAA amendment process in the House. The mission of the Climate Solutions Caucus is to educate members on economically-viable options to reduce climate risk and to explore bipartisan policy options that address the impacts, causes, and challenges of our changing climate.
