https://dankildee.house.gov/media/press-releases/statement-congressman-dan-kildee-high-pfas-levels-deer-near-oscoda Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee on High PFAS Levels in Deer Near Oscoda 2018-10-19 2018 2018-10 Democrat House MI Dan Kildee K000380 dankildee.house.gov     legacy OSCODACongressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) released the following statement following reports that high levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were found in deer in Oscoda Township: Deer hunting is an integral part of life in Michigan and no hunter should be worried that the deer they hunt and feed their families contains toxic chemicals. Because the Air Force has been slow to act, PFAS contamination is not only putting residents at risk, but hurting the local economy and costing Michiganders jobs. This week, I spoke with the Secretary of the Air Force, encouraging them to more urgently address PFAS contamination in Oscoda. I will continue to push the Air Force at every opportunity to act more quickly, while securing additional resources to clean up PFAS contamination in Oscoda. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
