She has not only visited Flint multiple times, but she worked with me to pass a $170 million aid package that is helping to replace lead pipes and expand access to health care for Flint families. This Flint aid package was no small feat, especially in a Republican-controlled Congress. But Nancy Pelosi never gave up on Flint and got the job done. It is exactly this type of commitment that we need from the next Speaker of the House. Nancy Pelosi is tough and knows how to get things done. Because of her leadership, millions of Americans have access to health care, workers have stronger on-the-job protections and better wages, and our country is a more equal place for all Americans. There is a lot of work to do in the 116th Congress, and a new Democratic majority must get to work on day one on the kitchen table issues that matter most to the American people: lowering the cost of health care premiums and prescription drugs, improving our roads, bridges and water systems, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and cleaning up government.
