Davids Bill to Help Female Entrepreneurs Start and Grow Small Businesses 2019-10-21 2019 2019-10 Democrat House KS Sharice Davids D000629 davids.house.gov     legacy Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Women's Business Center Improvement Act, legislation introduced by Representative ShariceDavidsthatwould increase access to resources and opportunities for female entrepreneurs in Kansas. The bipartisan legislation, co-introduced by Rep. Jim Hagedorn (R-MN), increases funding for the Women's Business Center Program from $18 million annually to $31.5million. Women Business Centers operate across the country, including in Kansas, and provide a full range of critical counseling and technical training services for small businesses primarily owned by women. Women are the fastest growing sector of entrepreneurs, but many unique challenges still exist for women, particularly women of color, to start and grow a business.
