PPP was a cornerstone of the CARES Act, a federal coronavirus relief package backed and voted for by Representative Sharice Davids. This data offers good news for our local economy and I'm glad to see that PPP directly helped protect Kansas jobs and businesses during this extremely difficult time, Rep. Davids said. Still, I have big concerns about many of the large corporations with deep pockets that we're learning got these loans. That's not who the program was intended for and I'll keep fighting to increase transparency and oversight to ensure our workers and small businesses get the support they need. Rep. Davids has been a vocal leader in holding the SBA and the Treasury Department accountable for their implementation of economic relief programs such as PPP. Along with Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Davids introduced the PPP Accountability Act, which would mandate that SBA and Treasury continue to release PPP loan data, including data on any loans that are forgiven. In addition, Davids has introduced legislation to increase funding to business in low-income areas and used her position on the House Small Business Committee to call for increased transparency on how minority-owned businesses are accessing PPP. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
