Legislation The FY23 budget also included three bills introduced by Congresswoman Dean: The Public and Federally Assisted Housing Fire Safety Act requires hardwired or tamper-resistant battery-powered smoke alarms in federally assisted housing. The Improving Access to Care and Treatment (IMPACT) Act increases the amount of time a physician may hold long-acting injectable (LAI) buprenorphine — a form of medication for Opioid Use Disorder — from a specialty pharmacy, reducing a barrier to this innovative treatment method. The Valley Forge Park Realignment Permit and Promise Act allows the Secretary of the Interior to permit the safe movement of a natural gas pipeline segment in Valley Forge National Historical Park from under its current roadbed to a new one.
