Blackhawk helicopters play a critical role in helping the men and women of our armed services carry out their duties safely, said Congresswoman DeLauro. I am thrilled that this additional funding will continue the construction of the Blackhawk in our backyard, at Lockheed Sikorsky, home of the world's best helicopters. As I take on my new role as Chair of the full Appropriations Committee in the 117th Congress, I will continue to fight to create jobs in Connecticut's Third Congressional District and invest in our local economy. This modification to an existing contract provides full funding of Program Year 5 of the Blackhawk Multi-Year IX Program bringing the cumulative total of this contract to $6,280,755,015.
