By strengthening this lifeline, the updated benefit better reflects the struggles our families face today rather than outdated metrics designed decades ago. "Under the current Thrifty Food Plan, Connecticut is receiving approximately $666 million in SNAP benefits. Under the new plan, Connecticut will receive $846 million, an increase of $181 million.
