This new agreement includes important provisions that will help our region's dairy farmers, who for years have struggled to export their products to Canada. It also eliminates a rule in British Columbia that requires imported wines to be placed in a separate part of grocery stores. This is also the first U.S. trade agreement that has a digital trade chapter, including important provisions on data localization, cross-border data flows and other important requirements that preserve a free and open internet, and support good-paying jobs in our region.
