https://delbene.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=3010 DelBene Announces Nearly $900M in Funding for WA Roads and Bridges Under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law 2021-12-16 2021 2021-12 Democrat House WA Suzan K. DelBene D000617 delbene.house.gov delbene https://delbene.house.gov/news/documentquery.aspx?DocumentTypeID=27 scraper Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) announced that Washington state will receive nearly $900 million in federal funding under the bipartisan infrastructure law to improve our roads and bridges, help create good-paying jobs, and grow our regional economy. This is the first round of funding for Washington highways under the law. “The bipartisan infrastructure law is delivering for Washington state with nearly $900 million for our roads and bridges after decades of neglect and underinvestment,” said DelBene. “These federal dollars are a transformative and necessary step toward strengthening essential infrastructure across our state that will help cut down commute times and emissions, improve public safety, and make our roadways resilient as we prepare our region for the next 50 years.” The historic, bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act was signed into law by President Biden on November 15, releasing new federal funding to repair highways and bridges across the country. These funds, administered by the Federal-aid Highway Program, can be used for construction, reconstruction, or improvement. The American Society of Civil Engineers gave Washington state a ‘C’ rating on its 2019 Infrastructure Report Card, finding that 416 bridges and over 5,400 miles of highway were in poor condition and require immediate attention. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T20:37:48Z
