https://delbene.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=3680 DelBene Announces $1.1B in Road, Bridge, and EV Charging Funding for WA 2023-10-03 2023 2023-10 Democrat House WA Suzan K. DelBene D000617 delbene.house.gov delbene https://delbene.house.gov/news/documentquery.aspx?DocumentTypeID=27 scraper Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) announced nearly $1.1 billion in bipartisan infrastructure law funding for Washington state. These investments will be used for road and bridge repairs and replacements around the state and to build out a nationwide electric vehicle charging network. The resources Washington will receive from the U.S. Department of Transportation for FY 2024 include: $934 million for road replacements and improvements. $131 million to repair and rebuild bridges. $15 million to build electric vehicle chargers. “The bipartisan infrastructure law continues to drive Washington forward. These federal investments will make tangible improvements in our communities from fixing crumbling roads and bridges to helping build out the electric vehicle charging network that is critical to supporting cleaner cars. These projects will also create good-paying jobs in our state that will be here to stay,” said DelBene. There are an estimated 423 bridges and over 5,547 miles of highway in poor condition in Washington. Two years in, the bipartisan infrastructure law is already rebuilding our roads and includes the single largest dedicated bridge investment since the construction of the interstate highway system. Based on formula funding alone, Washington is expected to receive approximately $5.3 billion over five years in federal funding for highways and bridges. Washington should also expect to receive roughly $71 million in formula funding over five years to support the expansion of electric vehicle charging in the state. More information about the bipartisan infrastructure law’s impact in Washington can be found here. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T00:49:26Z
