Denham Statement Observing National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day | 2017-12-07 | 2017 | 2017-12 | Republican | House | CA | Jeffrey Denham | D000612 | denham.house.gov | legacy | Rep. Denham Statement Observing National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day f t # e Washington, December 7, 2017 U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) issued the following statement observing National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day: “Seventy-six years ago, we were attacked at Pearl Harbor. While we recognize the battle that propelled the United States into World War II, we must also remember the selfless acts of our men and women in uniform as well as the many civilians that rescued survivors from the Pacific waters and the doctors, nurses and police officers who responded in the face of uncertain danger. Together they saved American lives. It is important we continue to recognize them for their call to duty and remember those that paid the ultimate price. On this Thank-a-Vet Thursday, I want to pay special tribute to the Greatest Generation.” ### Editor’s Note: U.S. Navy veteran Robert Allenby of Newman, Calif. joined the Navy in 1942 directly following U.S. entry into the war after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He shared his story with Rep. Denham’s office as part of the Veterans History Project in October of this year. A preview of his full length interview can be found here, on Rep. Denham’s YouTube page. f t # e | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
