Shared on Rep. DenhamsFacebook,TwitterandYouTubepages, this #TVT video is an excerpt from a longer interview for the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. Former Corporal Sandoval enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard on Sept. 11, 2000, one year to the day before terrorist attacks shook the country from New York to the Pentagon. Sandoval served as a Forward Observer, or 13F, and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 as part of the 1stBattalion 184thInfantry Regiment out of Modesto. While deployed, Sandoval served as part of a Personal Security Detail for his Battalion Commander. For his service, Sandoval was awarded the Combat Action Badge, national Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device and Army Service Ribbon. Sandovals story is shared as part of Rep. Denhams #TVT social media initiative to thank veterans for their service. Rep.
