Ron DeSantis (FL-06) released the following statement regarding the release of text messages between Department of Justice (DOJ) employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page: “The text messages released by DOJ cast serious doubt on the legitimacy of the Russia ‘collusion’ investigation. The messages reveal that the lead agent in charge of the matter, Peter Strzok (who also led the less-than-zealous Clinton classified information investigation), possessed a strong anti-Trump animus and that his bias infected his work. In the midst of the 2016 election, Strzok said that the FBI ‘can’t’ let Donald Trump win the election, which would be concerning if coming from any FBI agent, but it is disastrous coming from the agent spearheading a supposed fair counterintelligence investigation into Russian collusion with Trump’s campaign.
