With over 14 million Americans out of work, there is absolutely no reason that Washington should be taking any action that would prevent the private sector from creating jobs. “It is simply inexcusable for the NLRB to threaten to destroy thousands of new jobs by preventing Boeing from opening a new plant in South Carolina. As a citizen of Tennessee, which like South Carolina is Right to Work State, I’m extremely concerned about this setting a dangerous precedent. “Passing this legislation today is a critical step to preventing NLRB from dictating where businesses can expand based purely on political reasons. I encourage the Senate to pass this bill and join House Republicans in fostering an environment that will allow the private sector to grow and create jobs.” Earlier this year, the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which Rep. DesJarlais is a member of, opened an investigation into action by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that potentially jeopardizes Boeing’s work to open a new manufacturing facility in South Carolina and create thousands of jobs.
