H.R. 1992 enhances accountability in the U.S./Israel relationship by compelling biannual reports to Congress of weapons sales in the Middle East. Additionally, H.R. 1992 considers the threat of cyber warfare as it relates to Israel. After passage, Congressman Collins said: “America’s support for Israel should be strong and responsive to the changing threats facing our strongest Middle Eastern ally. Especially in the wake of the Administration’s recent talks with Iran, Congress must demonstrate its unwavering commitment to a strong U.S.-Israel relationship.” H.R. 1992 passed the House with a vote of 399-0.
