The second round of Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP 2) will begin September 21 and run through December 11, 2020. "Throughout the CARES Act negotiations, rural America fought hard to be included in COVID-19 relief," said Johnson. "The impact of the pandemic impacted markets differently as we witnessed supply chain disruptions, and I'm grateful USDA acted quickly to address these issues. Secretary Perdue has addressed many concerns raised by South Dakotans in this second round of CFAP, particularly for livestock producers. As USDA continues to help our producers, Congress should uphold our end of the bargain and pass an end of year bill that continues to replenish the Commodity Credit Corporation. We can't let our Farm Bill programs be disrupted." CFAP 2.0 includes several of Johnson's priorities including: -Wool, bison, pheasants, goats, and other specialty livestock are now eligible for assistance. -Additional assistance for cattle producers. Producers are eligible for $55 per head on inventory from April 16 – August 31. -Additional assistance for pork producers. Producers are eligible for $23 per head on inventory from April 16 – August 31. -Additional assistance for sheep producers. Producers are eligible for $27 per head on inventory from April 16 – August 31. -Assistance for row-crops oEligible acres of the crop multiplied by a rate of $15 per acre; OR oEligible acres of the crop multiplied by a nationwide crop marketing percentage, multiplied by a crop-specific payment rate, and then by the producer's weighted 2020 Actual Production History (APH) approved yield.
