Freedom on a Friday Night by Matthew Scherber Matthew Scherber is a photographer and a junior at Buffalo High School in Buffalo, Minnesota. He is the son of Jason and Deborah Scherber and an art student of Erika Clifton. Prior to winning the 2022 competition, he took home silver and bronze in the 2021 and 2020 Congressional Art Competitions, respectively. Background: The Congressional Art Competition is an annual competition for high school students across the United States. The winner from each district wins the chance to travel to Washington D.C. to visit with their Representative and see their artwork displayed in the Halls of Congress.
